Our Story

Always Keep in Mind or “A.K.I.M.” is a 501(c)3 non-profit local grassroots organization aimed towards combating food insecurity and promoting educational attainment for marginalized groups of individuals in the community.

We value education, growth, effective communication, and healthy relationships. We offer a virtual pre-vocational education mentorship course for students and potential students in New York and New Jersey that will assist youth with identifying their vocational interests, teach them basic pre-vocational skills (resume writing, interviewing skills, professional communication, etc.) and will introduce them to professionals within their field of interest who can potentially mentor them in their field of choice. Further, our mission is to untangle the complex relationship between systemic racism and food insecurity.
